I love life and the way I choose to live my life because, as a human being, that is all you can really do. It makes no sense to me to be ungracious and curt. I am adamant about manners and people using them. I find the simple things in life the most precious. I love nature and the way I feel when I wake up in the morning and inhale the dewy air. I stop and smell the roses, or whatever beautiful bud is blooming in my line of sight.
It has always fascinated me how, with the little amount of time we have to inhabit the earth, some people choose to live miserably and live to make others miserable. Why go through life with a frown on your face? My philosophy is merely to enjoy every moment that I have while I have it and with that do my best to bring joy to the lives of others.
I can’t guarantee that I will make history with my philanthropy, or even be remembered by the people who I have made smile over the years. But I can guarantee that I will continue to smile at strangers, hug my friends and love my family in hopes that my happiness will evoke happiness in others. I will continue to make stupid jokes that cause laughter. I will continue to, and I will quote my favorite musical now, be a Cockeyed Optimist.
Because I’m stuck like a dope with a thing called hope and I can’t get it out of my heart.
