I had my first glass of eggnog for the season today.
Every single year, all my fond childhood holiday memories come flooding back to me with that first sip of eggnog. Getting my first guitar for christmas when I was 5. Decorating cookies and the tree with my grandma the month before she passed. Getting the all-time greatest present I have ever recieved.
A warmth envelopes me everytime I drink eggnog, partly because there is something about the beverage that just fills you up, leaves you completely satiated, but mostly because it evokes a happiness that can only be brought out once a year.
