I consider myself an avid movie watcher. I have seen a lot of movies in the short amount of time I have inhabited this earth. Whether they be horror moviesĀ or romantic comedies, Disney movies or Indie Movies, so on and so forth; no genre is too good for my liking. But the movies that will always win me over no matter what, are the Classics.
If either of the Hepburn ladies are involved, I will drop whatever I am currently doing to be swept away by their story lines. If Gregory Peck or Cary Grant are gracing the screen of my television, you know where you can find me for the next 2+ hours. If Fred or Ginger or Gene are being light on their feet in my living room, I also find myself gawking in awe. I have watched Judy Garland’s wonderful performance in “The Wizard of Oz” more times than I can count. I can recite, word for word, the movie “Casablanca”.
There is just something about the tact and taste in these movies and others like them that keep me coming back. A certain cleverness and creativity involved the writing of films of decades past that keeps me enthralled.
If anyone ever finds themselves with some extra time on his or her hands, watch “Bringing Up Baby” and life as you know it will be changed for the better.
